Reading

When I moved to the United States (see background section), I wanted to learn English as fast as I could. Besides practicing my English with my friends in high school, I spent a lot of time reading. Initially, I read for the sake of improving my English. However, as I kept reading more books, I became fascinated with how books can teleport the reader into a different world! Reading then became, very quickly, one of my favorite hobbies. I also really like going to libraries to do schoolwork, or just simply read while surrounded by books. I recently found out that audiobooks help a lot with continuing to read books while balancing a busy life. Oftentimes, I listen to audiobooks while doing the dishes, brushing my teeth, etc. This realization has allowed me to continue enjoying reading while balancing schoolwork, research, and other responsibilities.
